Can anyone help me find an English version of Micrografx Draw?

I have been trying to find an English version of Micrografx Windows Draw v7.2 as the version I have won’t work on WIndows 2000. According to here Micrografx have been taken over by Corel which means that as Corel has its own drawing package they are no longer developing /selling Micrografx Draw :frowning:

They still sell it in Japan but not over here.

I was hoping that someone here could either to tell me where I can find a copy or give me the address of a site where I could possibly download it.

Google doesn’t give me much hope.

Thankyou!

Try including the words “surplus software” (with and without the quotes) in your Google search.

Another thing; I would recommend broadening your Google search by omitting ‘Windows’ and ‘7.2’ - the trick with Google is to try and visualise the sort of information that the page will have on it and the sort of information that it won’t; I know that probably sounds stupidly obvious, but in this particular case, the pages may not bother mentioning the version number if for example it is prominently visible on the pack shot and they may not mention Windows because everything else on the page/in the section is Windows software.

Hope you find it.

Draw was taken over by Sierra Home for a while, and then seemed to disappear as a stand-alone product. It’s still part of the Webtricity package from Micrografx (or Corel), but I can’t find it available by itself.

Is there a specific reason you have to use Draw, or would any low-end, yet powerful, graphics app do the trick?

Mangetout thank you for the tips on searching, I have been playing with them and have come to the same conclusion as DMC just above.

DMC I like the ease of use and the way that it is set up. Basically at work (I work in a biology research lab) the closest thing we have is Paint! We also have Paintshop Pro, though I don’t call that a drawing package. If you can suggest any other product that is similar to Draw I would appreciate it. All I really need is a package that can draw simple diagrams and allow me to import several images onto one page of A4. I like the grid set up that Draw had.

I do have an older version that worked on NT and will work on 2000 once they have got the service package to version three (I hope) as that is the reason it won’t work at present.

You might check out this program. There is a trial verison you can download to see if you like it, or you can get a full version of the previous version for free.

I don’t use it personally, but it seems comparable to Draw. If you don’t like it, I’ll see if I can’t find other choices for you to try.

Thankyou for finding that, I’ll have a play with the 30 day free trial and see how it goes.

Your help is greatly appreciated
