Can anyone help me ID an old book?

I read this book when I was a teenager in the early 80’s but it is probably older than that. It was about this guy who would occasionaly see this girl and I think her name was Jenny. Everytime he would see her she appeared older than she should be, I think she was trying to grow up faster to be with him? At the end of the book she died in some kind of hurricane or something at a light house. I think there was a movie too. Sorry if this is too vague but this has been driving me crazy!

Sounds like it could be Portrait of Jenny by Robert Nathan. It’s been too long since I’ve seen it, and I don’t remember a lighthouse. Jenny aged “magically” in the book (and the movie), and was inspiration for a painter who had fallen in love with her.
