I teach continuing education classes to cosmetologests and one of the classes I have to offer is OSHA.
Now I do have a lesson plan for OSHA that I have been using for a few years now (updating as needed with new laws) but it is a very dull class and I would love to figure out a way to make the information a bit easy to understand. I have been trying to figure it out for ever it seems. Of all the classes I offer this is the only one I hate. I guess I am just frustrated because I have been working on it ALL day
So if anyone has any ideas on how to make a dull class interesting I am all ears (or eyes since i can’t see ya’ll)
It’s all presentation. occasional jokes. projects as fun as can be made with the material. of course you have to get the material across; it’s important stuff. But you can still do your best to make it fun.

I’m curious on why cosmetologests need OSHA courses?
I mean I can understand in construction and industrial work with the different safety regulations we have but I’m not drawing the connection with this line of work?
Not being a smart-butt either.
I’m a safety rep at my plant so I know all of the OSHA regulations we have to follow and it’s mostly stuff like anything with four or more stairs has to have a rail.
As for the OP and making the training interesting I get to show some really neat shock videos.
Like the guy driving a fork lift off the edge of a loading dock and then there is all kinds of broken bones, blood and gore.
They are true OSHA accounts but instead of telling people about them they show you in a dramatised verson.
Okay, so we giggle through most of them, but I’m telling you it really sticks with peole.
Let me know if you figure something out. I am truly curious about what you come up with.
