Can anyone recommend a good all-format DVD writer?

I’m looking to move up to DVD, and I have some knowledge of the specs. I’ve heard a lot of good stuff on Lite-On drives. You can find them for $100 give or take, on pricewatch.com. I don’t know whether these dealers are selling the newest gear, or trying to get rid of outmoded stock.

I guess I’d need one that writes in + and - formats, and also writes CDs at a decent speed (above 12x… 24 or more would be good).

Any recommendations will be most welcome.

Plextor drives are always highly recommended in reviews. My roommate just bought one and it’s working quite well.

I have a Plextor CD-R/RW that has been great for years.
