I have a lot of South American friends, and I feel ignorant because I know so little of the history of their region. So I want to make an effort to learn a little more. I figure a good place to start is with Bolivar. He is so admired in many different parts of South America, that it seems you do not understand South American history unless you understand his life.
So I am hoping for a good, compelling narrative history if one exists.
Any recommendations?
