Can Democrats actually stop the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh?

Was it in the news that it was so prominent in his own calendar? It may have been, and I may have just missed it.

Yes, she says that, and if it turns out that she can actually provide corroborating witnesses, that would put her in a category significantly more credible than Ford or Ramirez. I find it odd that she did not give their names or anything.

No. I don’t see an answer there. It is impossible to be ex L.E. and not know people black out. You are more risible than Gonald Drump in front of the UN, in a room without sycophants.

What is bad for democracy is that the right is going to go deep to the mattresses just for the F of it, and deny reality. Like you are doing right now.

Emphasis added. If we assume they are true, then “perhaps not true” is not a reason. Nor are the others.

Not odd at all. She’s holding it back to allow Brett to make a further fool of himself.

You are a songwriter right?

Maybe they’re not willing to be doxxed and have death threats aimed at them until they’re sure someone’s actually going to listen to their testimony?

Just a WAG.

Yeah, the pictures of Ford that ended up getting used were … less than flattering.

She should be grateful she’s not black. They would have dug as far back in her past as they needed to to find a picture of her in a hoodie in the dark. Maybe holding a gun? (Right wingers love guns unless black people own them)

The reality is that I am not “ex L.E.”, and I never claimed to “not know people black out”. Those are figments of your imagination.

Kav is not kaving:

K*avanaugh said in a statement released by the White House: ‘This is ridiculous and from the Twilight Zone. I don’t know who this is and this never happened’ *

Not really. The Fox interview did not state that he never drank or made out, he said he never blacked out drunk and did not have sex. It was a carefully crafted lawyers answer at a time when he knew that Avanatti allegations were out there. Unless Avanetti is hiding Kavanaugh’s blood alcohol report somewhere, whether a or how much person is drunk is a subjective assessment anyway.

Well, if the allegations are true, he probably doesn’t know her. She’s just some random lower-class girl he drugged, raped, and forgot about.

It seems like you’re referring to a story, but I’m not clear which one. “hoodie in the dark”? Maybe Trayvon Martin? And I fully support (non-criminal) black people owning guns. I wish more of them would so that Dems would STFU about gun control.

There’s also this Kavanaugh excerpt from his prepared testimony tomorrow:

What’s wrong with “all-american” kids getting together to celebrate the great African-American author of “The Invisible Man”? I call racism.

If Swetnick’s allegations are true, then there are several then-boys (now men) out there who were involved in (or aware of) gang rape and witnessed Kav and Judge participating. It’s probably too much to hope, but I hope at least one those men might have a bit of human decency and shame and come forward and honestly tell their story.

Assuming these allegations are true, it shows one of the things rape culture has in common with the culture of white supremacism – it can make monsters out of otherwise normal and perhaps even decent people.

They have known that it was coming for several days and this is about the least bad claim they could have expected. Again allegation from decades agp. No actual allegation of rape, just , as I said, an invitation to draw inferences. People opposed to him will remain opposed, people supporting him will still do so. And since McConnell made his “come hell or high water” speech after Avanatii made his original claim, I would be surprised if this did make them back out.

So much for 4chan punking Avenatti.

And if what Kavanaugh is saying is true, then even more reason for an investigation. If someone made false accusations of this type against me, I would be furiously demanding they be held accountable to the fullest extent possible under civil or criminal law.

Odd he doesn’t seem to feel the same way.
