Can Democrats actually stop the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh?

Oh WOW! That’s rich!

“What do you like to drink, Senator?”

His defensiveness is making him look like he doesn’t have a grip on himself.

Man Sheldon Whitehouse is ALL bidness.

Corning trying to compare this hearing to McCarthy is total bullshit.

That is, I suppose, one possible theory. Do you find Kavanaugh’s explanation to be another (possible theory)?

Only the best people.

I guess the Republicans have given up on Rachel Mitchell.

His nervous responses like “do you want to ask any more question about the f-word” make him look not only guilty, but immaturely guilty.

ETA: Didn’t see this before I posted, but this is exactly what I mean:

Good news for Kavanaugh fans:

Forty-eight percent of white evangelicals say that embattled Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh should be confirmed even if the allegations of sexual assault against him are true.

Wonderful people.

“Possible” or “plausible”?

Because a “possible” explanation is that aliens edited the text.

He’s batshit. He scares me. I totally believe he was drunkingly going through school doing bad stuff.

That strikes me as only slightly less credible than Kavanaugh’s explanation.

Can someone post Kavanaugh’s explanation. I guess I missed it.

It was that Renate was a good friend that they liked a lot, basically.

These exhaustive and tearful explanations of his weightlifting workouts and summer jobs are really getting to me. I was on the fence about him before, but now that I know that he spent a lot of time working out and mowing lawns, I find myself feeling increasingly sympathetic to him. Whatever he’s doing, it’s working. This guy has his head screwed tightly onto his shoulders, that’s for sure. He is a man of honor.

Yeah, that wasn’t believable either. At all. He is knowingly lying about this.

I hope I’m wrong, but I have a feeling we’re going to see just how fake Ben Sasse, Bob Corker, and Jeff Flake really are, and I suppose you can add Murkowski and Collins to that list as well. Fake outrage. Fake concern. Fake love of country. This “hearing” is a sham. Nothing is going to change. They could probably have 25 more women come out and claim being raped and it wouldn’t matter, because to stop this criminal from taking his seat on the court requires that senators actually have some courage. And I just don’t see it.

Even after Flake and Corker leave, they don’t want to be locked out of lucrative lobbying careers, so they’re going to be careful not to do anything that would get the doors slammed in their faces post-Senate. Their independence is a myth.

It’s not as fun as Devils Triangle. Yes that is a drinking game too, as of a little after 4:30 pm today.

Evangelicals are a ‘faith’ that’s abandoned any pretense of morality or compassion or loving-kindness, and simply feels aggrieved and wants what they feel should be theirs.

I’ve only seen the commentary, but it seems that Graham is reacting to this as much as Kavanaugh?

One is curious what Graham’s college experience included…

The fact that he “fully embraces” drinking beer is also very profound. His description of his yearbook is exceptionally moving as well. And the way he raises his water glass to his lips is positively Byronic. This man is a golden god. He is a glorious golden god.
