Can Democrats actually stop the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh?

If there was any doubt left that Kavanaugh blatantly lied about the Renate thing in his yearbook, that doubt should be eliminated:

School kids speak shyt. That’s “heartbreaking”?

Then you’ve seen the FBI report, I take it?

Please fill us in on the details.

Well, yeah, because it’s over and done with, and was gelded at birth anyway.

Damned if I know. His track record of lying about matters big and small is pretty well established at this point, which should disqualify him for a judgeship at any level.

A week ago, he loudly endorsed a whackadoodle conspiracy theory about the Clintons, and endorsing whackadoodle conspiracy theories should also disqualify one for a judgeship at any level.

He’s a mean, angry, nasty piece of work, most fully demonstrated by his Starr years, but his high school and college acquaintances have given testimony that shows a certain consistency going back from there, and of course last week he showed that that part of him is still alive and [del]well[/del] twisted. Again, not the sort of person one would want on the bench, any bench.

No, I’m not sure either what else they’re looking for, what else they’d need.

School kids spoke ‘shyt’ 35 years ago.

He lied about it last week.

Let Feinstein read it first - I’d like to hear what’s in it.

Regards,
Shodan

That’s what they said about the AHCA.

IIRC the supposed deal was between Collins, Murskowski, Manchin, and Donnelly. But Donnelly then announced his opposition, so either the other three are playing a very bizarre game or there was actually no deal.

Sure, if you don’t mind waiting two months.

This.

The thing about the five undecideds is that if the three Republicans were really moderates in any meaningful sense, they could, as a group, rule the Senate. They could declare themselves independents, and change which party they caucused with in order to drive the agendas of both to a more moderate place, since each party would have a majority only when the ‘gang of five’ caucused with them.

But this isn’t what the GOP undecideds are. They talk a good game of moderation to the national press, but they only rarely back up their words with votes.

Is this news?

“I Was Brett Kavanaugh’s College Roommate.
He lied under oath about his drinking and terms in his yearbook.”

Yes. Apparently someone who knew Kavanaugh in College is a good source for what Kavanaugh was in HS. A guy is breathlessly revealing that Kavanaugh lied about drinking in college to excess, since he well, said under oath he drank to excess.

We have gone from one plausible accusation (Ford), to a much more far fetched one (Ramirez) to ludicrous (Swetnick), to accusations of lying because of subjective reasons, to news about the lamest bar fight ever, to a letter about not bothering the neighbours being somehow DQing, to a schoolboy shenagin about imagined sexual conquests being somehow relevant…to I dunno, he probably pulled some girls pigtails in grade school, and grabbed some adult females tit when he was an infant…

Try being a Catholic woman who now has to convince her husband, parents, kids, and god knows who else that she wasn’t the school slut.

If you are have family which is too dumb and or sheltered to understand the reliability or lack therefore of teenage boy claims and assertions, then frankly you have far bigger problems. :smack::dubious:

It’s rather easy for you to say that.

But Kavanaugh’s life is ruuuuuuined by these accusations. His family (and party?) must also be too dumb and sheltered to understand the “reliability or lack therefore of teenage girl claims and assertions”?

When it happens to a politically-connected judge, it’s ruination. When it happens to a no-name who probably doesn’t even vote the right way, it’s not all that serious and something that would just be brushed off back in the good old days.

So, even rushed and hobbled as it was, something turned up that Yertle desperately wants to hide in the verbiage…

WaPo is reporting that it’s written in lemon juice and McConnell is ferociously guarding the only candle.

That’s a common process when the WH “loans” the Senate executive material (here, the FBI report). It was agreed to by Feinstein. It’s the same process Obama used.

It might be a joke, but it’s a running gag.

“Gag” is certainly the appropriate word. Followed by “ralph”.

Or church members or housewives or gay bartenders or almost anyone except white male lawyers, actually.
