Can Dr. Oz sink any lower?

If you have to pretend I am having a frothing, raving meltdown and if others are pretending that I have posted racism in this thread, you should really step back and ask yourself why you hate Stoid so much that you have to create a fairy tail about the person who dared to step in and agree with her.

you have to create a fairy tail

Dopers pick on Nzinga. :frowning:

I can take it! Stoid taught me to be a tough cookie!

I did? That’s nice to know.

Who?

I don’t think anyone hates Stoid. Stoid is merely a signal, like a “Wrong Way: Do Not Enter” sign on the highway, that when you see it (or when you find her agreeing with your posts) you should immediately pull off the road and check yourself.

Where are the black Dopers? I know we have some. What are you, racist? Lemme try it: Dr Oz can’t be a good doctor because he’s a Mohammedan and everybody knows that Hindoos make the best doctors. Except that med student who took my vitals this morning, who is an idjit moron. I think he was a Legacy at New Delhi U; it’s the only way he got into med school.

I have always liked Stoid and Nzinga, Seated and you with the face, and I’m a bit saddened that they have this minor blind spot regarding Ms Winfrey. But fans will be fans and haters will hate, and I hope we can all put this behind us as we gang up on Rachael Ray. Who had Dr Oz on this morning.

I agree with Stoid (that the hate for Oprah is disproportionate to her transgressions), and I think you’re absolutely loony.

(I mean, you may well be a wonderful, charming, intelligent individual in person, but dang me to heck if you aren’t coming across looking like a Snickers bar in this here thread.)

I am so there… I can’t explain it, she just grates

Not Carlson, if you agree with Stoid, you agree with me. That’s awesome. You should be able to dismiss everything you find loony about me, since you agree with my original post. All subsequent posts were just trying to bring you to my first post anyway, which is that people needn’t act as if Oprah is the worst person in the world. I am glad to notice so many people agreeing with Stoid now. I should bring my looniness to more of her threads.

No, please don’t. That would make baby Aristotle cry.

Instead, why not just take a moment to learn from posters such as Sarafeena, or Quicksilver, or kaylasdad. Posters who can present reasoned opinions without resorting to ridiculous and completely off-the-mark rhetoric.

Also, learn to like Jon Stewart.
It will get you more cred.

Not being one who consciously chooses to like or dislike people based solely on their group membership, I’m predisposed to believe that most non-assholes are similarly inclined. I don’t know you, but from what I’ve seen of your postings over the years, you’re not an asshole. As such, I’m not seeing your idiocy on this Winfrey issue as based in racism.

I didn’t jump into this conversation until Page 5, and only then because it appeared that your sweet, sweet Oprah-love was forcing you to defend her honor with a sequence of increasingly bizarre assertions.

Your posting history gives me the impression you’re (at least) clever enough to understand internet hyperbole. So it puzzles me that you chose to die on this particular hill with Stoid as backup, no ammo and an indefensable position.

Because I don’t think Oprah is a cunt that deserves to be thrown into a Saturn volcano for crimes against humanity, you’re actually sad?

Here’s some kleenex, dear.

If you see a bus drive by with a giant Godzilla ad on the side do you believe that the bus driver is a fan of bad movies?

Beloved? He gets around a 1 share. At the height of her daytime show Oprah had about 10 times as many daily viewers

That is exactly the point. No one thinks Oprah endorses every product that the network sells ad time to. That would be crazy talk.

Never said anything about volcanos. Dying lonely and sad was all I ask for, and that ain’t gonna happen because she will still have her fans who believe that she will not die, but be assumed into Heaven to sit at the left hand of the Father.

Maybe you are too young to remember when she was first brought up from the Southern League to play in the Chicago Triple-As. The hype machine began before she even got to town because there was a woman of color with great stats and potential who was going to be on the TV news on a network affiliate, where people could see her and everything! Then AM Chicago, then a syndication deal, etc. The hype from the first annoyed me and has never ended, her mannerisms annoy me, and her guests and topics didn’t interest me, but I’m not her target audience. She, with help from the hype machine, made it okay for little, old white ladies to watch and admire a “colored lady,” like Morgan Freeman and Dennis Haysbert helped make some white folk comfortable with the idea of a black president. For that I salute her. Mindlessly supporting and giving a platform for crackpots, less so.

As for Dr Oz, he can perform surgery on me, but I’m not paying extra for some reiki nut who my insurance wouldn’t cover and would probably give me MERS because she doesn’t believe in germs.

Loach, I meant he is beloved on this board. I like him too. How could it not be apparent that I meant that he is beloved on this board, when I specifically stated that. I cannot understand why this thread is causing people to pretend not to understand plain talk.

Because you have gone off the rails so spectacularly that some people (not me!) are trolling you to see if you’ll get crazier still? Or is it that you have adopted such a serious tone while pulling examples out of your ass that some people (me!) can’t tell what is craziness and what is plain ol’ internet hyperbole?

Nzinga, you know I like you a lot. And once, when I didn’t seem to have the proper perspective of something here on the boards, you very gently offered the advice that I needed to step back for a bit. Sadly, I didn’t listen. :frowning: However, I’d like to return the favor now. I think the reason your coming on so strongly in this thread is because you feel passionately about Oprah. Although I don’t share that with you, I do feel that way about other things and know that when I really get caught up in defending something that apparently I’m only seeing, I lose sight of letting others grasp that point on their own. Anyway, maybe you could just take a breather from this topic? I’m not saying your apoplectic or anything, but for a text-based medium, you’re definitely coming across as highly upset. And there’s no need in that at all, certainly when it doesn’t matter what a bunch of anonymous strangers think about your opinion of someone you admire. Just my .02¢.
