Faithfool, I think you can stop being concerned. Pretty sure I’ll be ok without needing to “take a breather”. I think you have me confused with some other poster when it cones to giving advice. I would never advise you to, “step back” or “take a breather” from something as unimportant as a message board.

I’m undoubtedly paraphrasing wrong what you specifically said, but the gist was that all that was simply no big deal and I should just let it go. Now, I realize you’re nowhere reaching my epic proportions, hell, as I stated before, I think you’re just passionate on this subject and there’s nothing wrong with that. But there has to be a reason people think this is bothering you much more than it is in real life, so I simply wanted to say that I cared (but not in a stalker sort of way :p) that you may not be coming off the way you want if your goal was to achieve convincing others of your opinion. If I’m way off base, I apologize for the intrusion and hope you have a nice day.
My goal wasn’t to persuade. My goal was to cheerlead Oprah against those who I felt were trying to paint her as the devil. I do it all the time when oprah comes up on this board. Now, if you were having a real life melt down over some doper shit, I may have advised you to chill. But if you are honest… And I know you are, you know I’m far from melting down.
And that’s what I’ve tried to say every time… not that I think you’re coming unhinged, but that it’s the perception that’s coming across that way to others. And I know you’re a serious Oprah fan, I’ve seen you make good points about her on the boards over all these years. Some that brought me into agreement with you. But I think by being so strenuous in your defense of her, in such a way that apparently no one else is getting, you’re not doing her the typical service that you do when your goal is to showcase her best qualities and all the good that she does. So, all I was saying is let the thread right for a bit (like when you have some problem at work that’s not going well, you head to lunch, then voila, everything falls into place) and then when you come back to it in a few hours, maybe you can present your side in such a way that everyone will understand what you’re getting at. Does that make any better sense?
