Can I ask opinions on a certain website?

I don’t know anything about the website in which I want to inquire.
I’m looking to buy some box set DVDs and this website seems to offer prices that seem too good to be true. So it makes me kind of paranoid to send these guys my money.

Sure you can ask - this will probably wind up in the “IMHO” section, as that’s our home for polls and questions looking for opinions.

What’s the site? There’s a better than good chance that someone here has encountered them already.

If not, you might be able to plug their name into Google along with terms like “review” or “complain” or even try things like “fraud” “bootleg” or “illegal” if you’re that concerned about them.

If you can find where they’re located (assuning they’re in the US) you can also plug their name into the Better Business Bureau (www.bbb.org) and see if they have a ton of complaints against them.

Of course you can. Why would this be a problem?

I’m not a mind-reader, but perhaps SHAKES was concerned about the possibility of the site selling illegal merchandise or dabbling in copyright violations, since the prices seem “too good to be true”?

Carnack er, um, Arnold Winkelried nailed it.

Yeah, but in context here: You’re not advertising a site, you’re asking a question, you’re looking for information, you’re not trolling for the site. We can tell the difference. Mostly.
