Can I say I want video games to have a boob size slider without sounding like a pervert/misogynist?

In this era of games that seem to boast “100% complete character customization” as a point of pride it’s shocking to me that modifying body type still is very much limited especially when it comes to chests (both men and womens but women are the most obvious for obvious reasons).

Most games with character customization seem make chests for both sexes either skinny, regular, buff, or in certain cases fat, that’s it. In addition, boob size for women tends to be tied to those parameters but even “big” boobs (which generally are put on the fat frame) aren’t even that big comparatively. Because of this it makes designing female characters using inspiration from either other fictional properties or even real life people incredibly hard, since boob size is limited entirely to weight and as we know people come in all sizes. It also effects men too, you can make buff guys but they tend to be a single body type, you can’t make skinny in-shape guys since skinny tends to be almost skeletal skinny in games, you have to have “normal weight” as your base for making someone with pecs.

I understand there’s some technical aspects to it (have to make clothes conform to the boob size after all) but it also seems like a bizarre moral issue as well since games that have boob size sliders tend to be either doing it for comedic purposes (Saints Row, where you can make boobs big to absurd degrees) or because it’s some weird sex games. You rarely see them in “normal” games since it seems like they think boob size sliders make the game less serious.

That’s just my rant, anyone else feel this way?

I prefer to have one just because I generally prefer robust customization options. Although I’m not a fan of cartoon balloon breasts, sometimes my character concept is a little chestier and sometimes I like to go the other way for a lithe athletic look. City of Heroes had a slider and while, yes, you had people having 4’6" women with watermelon boobs, I appreciated the ability to fine tune my appearance. Black Desert Online has a slider as well which makes me wonder if it’s common for Asian MMOs (I think TERA did but don’t remember).

As for “less serious”, I think the obvious answer is to place realistic limits on how far the slider can go. And, should anyone ask, I don’t care if they include a “package” slider for men. I think Saints Row 3/4 had one but if people want to make their bulge bulgier, more power to them.

My first thought on reading the title was that a slider is much smaller than a human female breast, and that a “boob size slider” would be more properly referred to as a jumbo burger.

It must be getting close to feeding time at your house.:smiley:

I think it would be safe to say that most females would be mostly Dolly Partonish if they allowed it, and it would be more unrealistic.

Black Desert is the one I was going to mention. I like having the option, like Jophiel, because I like to customize my look. I also find that sometimes the female characters are presented a little unrealistically, shall we say. I’m know I’m not the target demographic, but it’s nice to be able to change things up.

Conan Exiles has both a boob slider for women and a penis-size slider for men (in the PC version, you have the option to play naked).

To make it equivalent the male characters would need a pelvic bulge adjustment. Make it look like that have a few socks packed in their barbarian thong.

I play Final Fantasy XIV (another game from an Asian developer), and it has a bust size slider, as well (though for several of the races, like Miqo’te and Au Ra, there isn’t a big difference between 1 and 100). It also has a height slider, and, for some of the races, a slider for amount of muscle mass / definition.

Conversely, Star Wars: the Old Republic has a very limited amount of customization in body design: there are four body types for male characters, and four for females, with no ability to customize height, bust size, or body shape beyond that choice.

As mentioned before, in Conan Exiles it’s more than a bulge. You actually have a penis flopping around like a dead snake and you can customize its length.

It’s really creepy, too. It moves even when you don’t, like you’ve got a tiny little breeze down there.

Well, the actual equivalent of a female chest would be a male chest. If you want a pelvic bulge, you’d have some genital modification for women as well. Pronounced camel toe?

But Saints Row 3/4 had (as I recall) a “sex appeal” slider which was boobs and crotch bulges for the girls and guys, respectively.

It is said the penis is the lightest object there is. It can be lifted up with a mere thought.

I see what you did there.

Best customizer I’ve seen so far. I spent far more time designing the character’s body/costume/etc. than the character itself.

At least you’re not asking for a boob bounciness slider.

Would I be right in guessing that, in Conan Exiles, the extremely unrealistic oversized-boob female characters and the extremely unrealistic oversized-dick male characters are both disproportionately played by males, and that female players mostly prefer more realistic anatomies on both genders?

You can’t go ridiculously oversized IIRC. The game is a bit more gritty and realistic (it’s a survival game set in a harsh environment). It’s been a while since I played, but I don’t remember any watermelon boobs or third legs.

Huh, that truly surprises me. Back when I use to play video games with my kids, the female characters mostly had ridiculous large busts.

From what I can remember you can make a guy somewhat like Milton Berle but you can’t quite make a woman like Dolly Parton.
