Is Adobe Creative Cloud only for Windows users, or can I use it on my Windows-free Mac?
Yep. It’s available for Mac. I know because I use it every day.
You generally can’t use the same license on 2 different workstations, however.
And you may think CC means Creative Cloud. In reality it means Constantly Crashing. At least with Premiere.
Yes you can. As long as you use it on one workstation at a time.
Yes, I have it my laptop and desktop. My post was not specific enough. I use it on my laptop when my desktop is not on.
I’ve been using it since not long after it came out, and I only have Macs. Creative Cloud, at least what I have, allows for two computers to be authorized at a time (I have one desktop and one laptop on the $10/mo Photoshop & Lightroon plan). They can be any combination of Mac and Windows.)
Ah, I think the key word there is “workstation.” It’s supposed to be one main computer, and one laptop/backup computer under the licensing agreement. Like desktop and laptop in my case. I don’t recall getting nagged when the programs were both opened and running on both my computers, though.
I use it on my Windows PC at the office and my Macbook at home… both on the same monthly plan.
I have it on more than two computers. When you do this and use a machine that is currently not activated, you’re given the opportunity to deactivate all and activate the one you’re on.
And, if you’re in an anti-monopoly mood, do check out Affinity Photo. Fifty bucks at the App Store. It has some missing features that irk me – no way to hide selections, no de-speckle feature – but knows some tricks of its own. It will open Photoshop files well, preserving the layers, etc.
Affinity’s Designer is an Illustrator substitute for the same price, but their page layout program isn’t due till late 2016.
