I haven’t seen anything like that. Do you have a cite?
I’d also like a cite. As I said, I’ve heard the man explain his reasons for writing the book and I don’t recall any such statements and I’m pretty sure something like that would have caught my attention.
After googling a bit, I found a somewhat similar comment (about “New York money people”) by Wes Clark (not Carter). Cite
Is that what you were thinking of, Sam?
So it was mostly Jews that resigned?

As far as hijacking the OP to Great Debates territory–Don’t do that! I understand that the OP had been answered at that point, but taking it down the road is just opening up the thread to posts like that by
Operation Ripper.
And that brings me to my next point-- General Questions isn’t the place to make your drive-by slams on the person/idea being asked about by the OP.
Operation Ripper–I"ve noticed your irritating habit of doing this the last few weeks/months. Perhaps it’s been going on longer, but I have more important things to do than search. So take this to heart.
If you don’t want a formal warning, cease this kind of behavior in General Questions.

My mistake. I conflated the ‘New York money men’ comment with Carter instead of Clark.
Consider the accusation against Carter withdrawn.
