Can someone explain the Hunter Biden Scandal to me?

This is how. By reading the emails.

There seems to be some confusion here. The emails referencing “The Big Guy” which Bobulinski asserted referred to JB were connected to a Chinese energy venture, and were apparently unconnected to any Ukrainian oligarchs.

I see that a poster claimed earlier that “one reporter that did said similarly that there were indications that “the Big Guy” was a Chinese national”. Personally I don’t think there’s much in that - a poster claiming that a reporter said “there were indications …”, but even if it’s worth something at all, it hardly seems like enough to just completely dismiss and ignore the testimony of a guy who was directly involved and had actual knowlege. YMMV.

Whenever someone says they have damning emails but will only show a sentence or two out of context they are probably lying to you.

You don’t have to keep falling for it.

But I LIKE falling for it!!

The explanation is that Tony Bobolinski is politically motivated. But even if he’s not, he has never been able to provide one shred of evidence that shows that Joe Biden was a partner in Hunter Biden’s business venture in China, which, BTW, seems to be a completely legal investment deal, the kind of deal that investment bankers and venture capitalists engage in on a regular basis.

There is no evidence that Hunter Biden ever referred to his father as “The Big Guy”, and there is evidence that he used that term to describe the foreign prinicipal in another deal. There is no history of Joe Biden ever engaging in business deals with his son, and no indications that Hunter Biden was ever involved with his father’s political career

But even if the the events Bobulinski described happened, so what?

Bobulinski claims that he met Joe Biden twice. The first time, Joe dropped in on a business meeting where his son, his brother and Bobulinski were discussing a legitimate business deal and made some small talk. Joe Biden “thanked him for his service” (he’s a military vet) and thanked him for helping his son. Even Bobulinski admits that they didn’t discuss any details of the business deal in their brief meeting. The second meeting was similar. And BTW - Joe Biden was a private citizen at the time and……gasp……perfectly free to engage in legitimate business deals……even though I don’t believe that he did.

I’m willing to believe that Hunter Biden tried to convince Bobulinski that his father was involved when he actually wasn’t—even Bobulinski admits Hunter told him not to discuss the deal in front of Joe—-, because he was trying to sell the deal to him. I might even believe that Hunter told Bobulinski that he wanted an extra 10% for his dad, but the obvious explanation for that - to me- is that he was trying to grab an extra piece of the pie for himself.

So even if Bobulinski was being honest (which I doubt, personally) he doesn’t have anything that proves anything more than”Joe dropped by a few times while we were meeting and said hello” and “Hunter tried to convince me his dad was involved.” He has absolutely nothing within his “evidence” that shows that Joe was involved in the deal or expected to profit from it.

Ok, I’m convinced. I’ll never vote for Hunter Biden again.

Some interesting links here that go to the heart of the OP: https://twitter.com/MeliMels99/status/1509386602988060673

Some interesting responses to them here.

Or would you care to provide the links within that thread you consider to “go to the heart of the OP” and why exactly?

Also, for those who don’t like to dive too deeply into conspiracy theories but – laudably – would like a clean, succinct reason to hate Hunter Biden … I give you …

:shudder:

I just thought that entire article was a pretty thorough response to the OP. She basically asked the same question I did, and got some interesting responses.

We strongly encourage adding some context to links and pointing out what is of interest. Bare link are not appreciated in general.

You guys all forgot that Hunter made some paintings and sold them, which is a crime. You can’t just put paint on a canvas and expect people to give you money for them, that’s corruption in its purest form.

I’m not sure if this is related to the emails on the laptop, maybe Rudy can tell us.

Wellllll, I’m not saying this is what happened here - but there is a world where, if one is interested in getting in the good graces of an official, one could avail themselves of purchasing whatever product or service the official, or their associate, is hawking. See: Paying inflated rates to stay at the Trump Hotel in DC.

That is always a possibility, yes, but it has to be balanced against the right of people to make their own living, even if they are related to someone in office. Is Hunter barred from working while his dad is in the Oval Office?

I’m not saying I think that is the case with Hunter Biden, but political opponents (especially those who are quite familiar with various money schemes - bulk book buying anyone?) would naturally assume that “the other side” does it too.

There is the strong possibility that they tried to make Joe radioactive by going after his son because they couldn’t find any other way.

Yea… like there is a “strong possibility” that the Pacific Ocean is a bit wet.

Has anyone else noticed the elements of quid pro quo in Trump’s smear campaigns?

You accused Russia of interfering in the election for Trump, we’ll accuse Ukraine of interfering for Hillary.

You manufactured evidence against Trump, we’ll manufacture evidence against Biden.

You went after Trump’s son and tried to get him arrested, we’ll go after Biden’s son and try to get him arrested.

Copycats.

Long ago.

Whatever they’re alleging against Dems, they’re already doing themselves.

Noticed and repeatedly remarked upon. For example:

And don’t forget the Guardians of Pedophiles calling Democrats (and Disney) “groomers”.
