Can someone recommend a good TEXTUAL learn-it-yourself Spanish book?

To keep up with changing times here in the USA, I’d love to learn Spanish.

However… As anyone knows, language courses (at least here in America) are largely taught orally. I’m deaf, and since it just doesn’t work out to have a sign language interpreter to sign the Spanish class lecture, I’d like to know if there are any good LIY Spanish books/CDs that are entirely text-based? It seems that nearly all self-study language books/CDs require audio or video tapes.
