Can someone with Tourettes drive?

My cousin has Tourettes. He’s a truck driver.

So, yeah, they can drive.

I didn’t mean to say that it wasn’t neurological. Just that it is a bit different from other neurological disorders in that tics are affected by one’s affective state.

I know that I have a couple of tics that are elicited by certain thoughts. I don’t think Parkinson’s has this feature, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Huntington’s does to some small degree.

It’s more like trying to not cough when you have a tickle in your throat. You can do it for a while, sure, but eventually you have to cough. It becomes physically unbearable not to. Also, in my experience, resistance makes ticing worse when you do give in.

But can zombies with TS drive? :smiley:

I have Tourette’s and I drive just fine. Like most folks with TS my tics are relatively minor.
