Can this obviously lying nutjob torpedo Obama's campaign?

Didn’t whitehouse.com used to be a porn site? Hmm. I wonder when they changed formats.

I’m not an Obama supporter, but this seems so ridiculous I’m amazed that this is a concern among his supporters. I’d be more concerned about Rezko and Exelon than the rantings of some nutjob.

It’s only a matter of time until we hear about the gay tryst McCain had on a Navy ship, or Hillary’s secret abortion of her Black baby, or Huckabee’s affair with a Klanswoman…
or Hillary’s secret abortion of her Black baby…
This is how malicious rumors get started. Hillary’s baby wasn’t aborted. For those who don’t know, the child was born of her assignation with the Calypso singer her parents hired for her 13th birthday, was given up in a private adoption, and inherited the ambitions of both parents when he grew up.

And it won’t be a nutjob – it’ll be former colleagues or something. It isn’t too hard to round up a few conservative academics at Harvard or Chicago, is it? (Former fellow law students at the Harvard Law Review?)

Conservatives at Harvard?? Are you kidding?

Dubya went to Harvard.

Unless it gets traction (and I hadn’t even heard of this until the OP brought it up) it’s not going to do anything to Obama. The only way it would get traction is if this guy has something resembling proof (like pictures of him and Obama together or something like that).

Sounds like the guy is a nut case to me. Assuming that is so there is even less chance of this getting traction with anyone but the faithful…

Get a voice actor to record a “candid” tape of Barry Obama saying, “this is good crack,” etc.

I always figured that’s how they made that weird tape of “Martin Luther King” supposedly wanting to suck some guy off.
Not sure what the point of this thread is.

Why give the flaming asshole/troll mentioned in the OP the publicity he so clearly seeks? Doesn’t matter if it’s only negative publicity he gets from what he’s doing, it’s simply the publicity he is after. And I don’t see how any at all can do anything but damage to Obama.

I can understand that Dio did this in good faith – sort of as a preemptive strike against the possibility of yet another Swiftboating Special. But still, why even open the door to that possibility? I mean we (at least those of us that where here at the time and read/participated in the +/- 20 page train wreck)) know just how amenable to reason True Believers are once they latch on to a convenient meme to further their stranglehold of America, so, again, why even open that door?

Just don’t think it’s a good idea.

You don’t seem to understand that politics is the continuation of war by non-violent means, that the GOP are at war with, well, the rest of us, & they will use everything they can. This will come out, it will be used. You’re not going to shut them up, you’re not going to stop it. Confront it, deny it, prove it wrong, make it old news.
I’m not voting for that Lincoln fellow. He’s only been a senator for one term, and just because he’s a brilliant orator and a thoughtful, intelligent writer with class and integrity doesn’t mean he’ll make a good president.
Considering the South freaked out & preemptively seceded when Lincoln was elected, & the country went through a bloody civil war, that’s probably not the antecedent you want it to be.

I see what you mean, Dio. Dammed if you do dammed if you don’t. FWLIW my work’s done here.

See ya in some other thread.

Yeah, but the South reconsidered a few years later and came around, but to let the North save pride we “threw the game” at Appomattox.
Anybody heard of this character named Larry Craig? He’s been putting up a series of videos on youtube (linkable at above linked blogspot site) claiming that he gave Barack Obama a blowjob and smoked crack with him in a limo in 1999. His story is completely unsubstantiated and laughable. The dude looks like Larry the Cable Guy and appears to have mental problems but that hasn’t stopped the videos from turning up on some right wing blogs with predictable outraged demands to know why the “MSM” (including, in this case, even mainstream right wing radio) has been “covering it up.”

Now Larry Sinclair has filed a slander suit against Barack Obama and the Democratic Party for unfairly “smearing” him. Sinclair is acting as his own attorney.

Even though this dude is clearly as full of shit as a constipated whale, could this thing still work to Swiftboat Obama’s momentum? We’ve seen in the past that accusations are all that matter and that proof and facts mean nothing when it comes to political character assassination. I expect this will quickly make its way into some vicious little spam campaigns and that we’ll probably hear the radio assholes bringing it up in the GE if Obama gets that far.

Maybe I’m being too pessimistic, but I fear that Barack will now be morphed into a crack-smoking faggot, regardless of the facts.
Yes, you’re far too pessimistic.

If anything, evidence is now surfacing that Obama EXAGGERATED the drug use he’s already confessed to! Friends who knew him as a teen back in Hawaii are skeptical that he EVER did much in the way of drugs, other than the occasional toke of weed (which was pretty much par for the coure back in the Seventies).

Yes, well, I can see certainly see the logic behind a Senator/presidential wanna-be lying about taking drugs. Now which smilie do I use, or maybe :smack: What’s the world coming to when you can’t get your friends to back you up. Obama can always claim plausible deniability because his buddies were high at the time.

So what are we debating exactly? That Obama did/didn’t snort a little between tokes? That he wasn’t a true party animal because he was a light-weight? Throw me a bone here.

What do you need a bone for? I’m not attacking Obama, am I?

Diogenes, in his usual paranoid fashion, has convinced himself that Obama is going to be destroyed by some idiot who claims to have engaged in all kinds of illicit sex and drug use with Obama.

I’m saying that, in all likelihood, Obama has nothing to worry about, because he wasn’t NEARLY as big a wild man or doper as he made himself out to be. His sordid past doesn’t seem to amount to much more than a few puffs on a joint now and then. And apart from yours truly, practically EVERY kid was doing that back in the Seventies.

It looks to me as if Barry Obama (as he was known then) was more a nerd than a stoner. I don’t see any huge scandal clouds on his horizon. Any reporter who pursues this story is going to get a lot of funny looks from Obama’s old friends and acquaintances, who all seem to agree that Barry was a pretty straight arrow.
I wouldn’t even know about this stuff unless I read it here. They are non-stories only read by a nut-job minority.

Do not underestimate the zeal or ingenuity of the nut-job minority.

On Tuesday February 26, 2006 Larry Craig will submit to a polygraph test in New York. The test, sponsored by Whitehouse.com will be conducted by a renowned expert and verified by a second renowned expert before being made public. There will be a video of the polygraph test .

Polygraphs are bullshit.

ETA thanks for the update, though. I just don’t think it would prove anything. I’m pretty sure I could pass a polygraph for my story about fucking John McCain up the ass.

Anyway, given the question in the title of this thread and the event taking place before the next big primaries, if Sinclair passes then that would most certainly magnify Sinclair’s credibility and the mainstream media would have to report it. If Sinclair passes, then i predict Obama is toast.
