Can Tiger get it back?

Where’s the PGA pool? I want to see how many play Tiger.

i think this is wrong. i can only speak from my personal experience being from san antonio. robinson, duncan and manu don’t have spouses that are real athletic, near as i can tell. but they are a classy bunch and seem to be successful. matter of fact i don’t think i would recognize them if i bumped into them at the grocery store (the wives not the players).

and tony’s wife doesn’t really light up the field of play athletically but seems to be semi smoking hot when it comes to a tv show.

and maybe its because they play on a court as opposed to a field. but shoot i always thought tennis was played on a court as well.

You can’t take a data point of one (Andre & Steffi) and expand it into a general rule. Now, if you want to run a broad-based study on this, go right ahead, but keep in mind the vast majority of spouses of athletes are essentially non-athletes: it would be quite a stretch to argue that all they need to do is ditch the fat sack of crap they are married to, go find another sportsperson to marry, and see a significant rise in their performance. If you tried to argue something like this in GD, Dio et al. would have your hide-and they’d be right.

It’s still very early but Tiger’s having a really good day so far and is tied for the lead.

Tiger is falling back a bit. He is 2 back and having trouble on a par 5.

Tiger is now 1 under, 3 back of Bubba Watson. Tiger is having tee trouble again. He does get to see the whole course though.

They had a fog delay for a couple hours today. Phil is not slated to tee off for another 15 minutes. Many will not get 18 in today.
Tiger was -3 ,at 16 he is now even par.

Tiger birdied 3 of the first 4 holes. Then he gave them all back. He then birdied the last hole winding up -1. Is that a good round? He is surely not out of it.

Another fog delay. They have not teed off yet. This is turning into a mess.

Play to resume at 10:40. They are never going to catch up.

Tiger got to play 6 holes today. His long game wasn’t sharp.

A couple of good drives, no good iron shots. His short game was spot on even though he missed a short birdie putt on his last hole (drivable par 4).

he is two better than the 36 hole cut with 12 holes to play. If he can’t get a band-aid on his swing he could very well be trunk slamming about noon tomorrow. (or about 4 hours after they actually start playing tomorrow.

It looks like the golf course is getting rain right now according to the radar maps. The wet ground might delay the start, but I don’t think they will have fog again. With a cold front going through, it should have more of a off-shore wind rather than on-shore.

If the rain passes through tonight, I would not be surprised if they catch up completely tomorrow if they go off split tees.

They got about 5 hours of golf left in the 2nd round. They are supposed to resume play at 7 am which should get them done at noon. Give them a half hour to make the cut and do the tee times, they should be back out on the course at 1 pm. Last group tees off at 3 pm. They will be real close to finishing.

Key, no weather or fog delays.

there was no fog delay or rain delays to start Saturday. they should finish round 3 today, about 7 pm local time, if there is no T-storms or heavy rains.

Tiger resumed his round, and so far has had a bogey (#7) and a birdie (#10). He has got two shots to play with to make the cut. Apparently the conditions are the easiest that they have been all week.

Too bad there wasn’t a PGA pool. I was surely playing Kuchar, Furyk, Mcilroy and Watney.

Tiger is +2 on par 5s this week. He was hanging around but started the 3rd round crappy. He is dead meat.

-9 now, -6 back of the peloton; he absolutely needs a 66 at the bare minimum: even breaking the new course record (Liang’s 64) would likely leave him out of any playoff.

I have a feeling that if Tiger does not show some form tomorrow, he will pack it in for the year on the PGA Tour.

There is an outside shot that he will not even qualify to be in the FEDEX playoffs, and he doesn’t play well in the first tournament, he will definitely be out of the 2nd stage.

I don’t think he “really” wants to be a Ryder Cup Captain’s pick, despite what he said earlier this week. IMO, the only reason why he wants to play is for damage repair to his reputation. It’s an event that he has shown little enthusiasm in the past.

He is committed to play a tournament is Australia (for mega appearance bucks). And there is a big event in China that he is supposed to play as well. Both in November. Maybe he will have his swing overhauled by then.

I think he needs to play a lot of competitive golf. It is the only way to fight through his problems. He needs to hit fairways in game stress conditions. But I would not be surprised if he shut it down. His ego is huge and not being in contention is hard for him to tolerate.

Another mediocre round from TW today. 73. Some flashes of brilliance, and some golf shots barely on the planet. Looks like he will finish about T27.

Mickelson will probably finish at around 12. Will he take over the #1 spot?

Phil would have to get 4th or better if Tiger made 46th or better. Tiger stays number 1.
