I’ve been toying with the idea of doing Disneyland’s hitchhiking ghosts as a UV tattoo.

Mirrors, my friends, mirrors…
To elaborate:
Why would I not know what it looks like? I can stand with my back to a mirror and look over my shoulder and see it just fine.
Anyhow, as Farmerchick said, all of my tattoos are deeply personal and very meaningful to me. I don’t really care if people see it or not. In fact I really don’t like showing it to people unless they are into tattoos themselves. It gets a bit old “come over here Mike, you gotta see this guys back…Hey apocalypso, show him your back!”. “Um, no”. “Why? Aw, common!”.

I still don’t get it. Say you woke up tomorrow without it. Would you feel diminished? Would you feel less like “you”?
I guess I just don’t get the concept that you change your body, and it becomes more “you”. I have the same problem with these weightloss commercials that say, “find the real you inside”. How your body looks doesn’t reflect the real you! I mean, I’m pretty tied to my arms, but were I to lose them in an accident tomorrow, I wouldn’t be any less me.

You don’t have to “get it”. My tattoos are not for you. They are for me.

I’ve seen any number of tats that are definitely not to my own taste, but I think the only one that really threw me was a young (early 20s) co-worker who had a tattoo of the Nestle Quik bunny. I asked her what the significance was, imagining a really interesting story. She said she just really liked the Nestle Quik bunny.
shrug Alrighty then.

Yeah, there’s that too.

But as another useless data point in my collection, my ex-best friend has a memorial tattoo for her deceased father. However, you’d never know it unless you were part of her inner circle because, for whatever her reasoning, just a casual observer would be told that she simply thought the design was pretty and that it “didn’t mean anything.”
I never understood why she did that. I suppose it just has to take all kinds. And centrifugal force. ![]()
How you doin’? ![]()
Same here. I’m pretty sure I’ll get one one of these days, but I just haven’t stumbled upon an image that represents me well enough.
