Can You Actually Die From Boredom?

Never been bored a second in my life. There are way too many things to do, places to see, people to meet, things to experience. If you’re bored, you aren’t living right.

BTW, I never saw “Meet Joe Black,” but I do have “Here Comes Mr. Jordan” on video and I’ve watched it about a dozen times.

“Struuter and Robot”
Sounds like a bad communist puppet show.

HAhahahaha!

Thank you all for your lovely comments to and about me [tossing roses to the crowd] and it’s somewhat comforting to know there are others out there even more bored out of their noggins than I am.

You are absolutely right, plnnr—I am going to up and quit my job so I can go jetting off to Antibes with Nöel and Gertie, right this very minute!

Hey, Nemo—gimme a link to that thread on Opal’s board! I could use the warm glow of appreciation . . .

[hijack]

It’s “make believe” when used as a verb (“Loretta liked to make believe she was a fairy princess”) and “make-believe” when used as a noun (“When Bobby told his mom about his friend Daniel, she said it was all make-believe.”)

Just a friendly opinion from a fellow editor…

Hmmm, while boredom itself isn’t deadly, I would have to say that it’s what one usually does WHEN they are bored, that ends up being lethal.

According to Edward Gorey, Neville did.

Eve, I don’t believe boredom is fatal, however it can suck your will to live. This happens to me a lot during family get togethers.

As for those momzers (check your yiddish translastions;j) who insulted you, just remember, there are people like me who only checked out this thread because you started it. You are endlessly entertaining.

Thank you, Shay—now I can go home with a smile on my map, and ignore the fact that Dan has once again shown that I am totally unqualified for my job . . .

“Well, if you change your name to ‘Melba,’ you could be the toast of yet a third continent.”

—I dunno, Finagle . . . do you think I’m nellie enough?

Eve, I tried to locate that thread but my search was fruitless. The thread was posted several months ago and I don’t remember its title or what forum it was in. I tried the search engine, but the F3MB still uses the same one as the old SDMB and we all remember how well that worked.

Anyway, Eve, I strongly suggest you check out Opal’s board. There’s a number of familiar SDMB regs who have relocated there. As I wrote above, you’d be guaranteed a warm welcome. Make sure you mention that I recommended it; I’ll get big time credit for getting you over there.

Eve, I believe Dan maybe a little too “qualified” for his job. I’m sure you do a great job.

Once again? Did I do this before? (runs to the helpful <Search> function on the SDMB…)

BTW, I second the earlier thought that anything you post would stave off boredom. I see your name, and my heart just goes pitter-patter! Sometimes just pitter, in which case I need to get the EMTs over here to jump-start my ticker again!

Anyway! I have evidence from The Master that some creatures can indeed die of boredom! (In this thread)

Ooooh! But let me mark this date down!

Eve noticed me!
Eve noticed me!

And called me by name! Looks like all those months of stalking finally paid off! (Just kidding! I don’t even know her from Adam! )

Keep up the great work on here, Eve, I love seeing your posts. (And I didn’t mean to sound presumptuous.)
