Truly don’t care. If the nail salon is a front for something else, then that something else is the problem, not the nail salon. And if it’s just a nail salon, then the free market should work naturally to sort the abundance out. Or it won’t, in which case people in Oakland really really really like nicely groomed hands. So who is the government to say residents shouldn’t partake in their services?

If it’s a nail salon with air quality problems, it should be regulated or closed.

I am amused every day when I pass the oriental nail salons with names that must sound different before translation. Like Happy Lucky Golden Nails, and Sharp Hair & Nails. Ouch!
