There was a thread some months (six?) ago about someone who didn’t live in the U.S. and was planning to take a vacation here; this person was planning to buy a car and travel around for several months. He/she wanted to know how to go about getting car insurance being that he didn’t live permanently in this country. I have looked and looked and cannot find that thread. Is there anyone who can find it or who posted to it (it would be easier to find the thread by poster name. Thanks a lot if you can help!

Thanks for trying, Earl, but that’s not it. The thread I’m looking for was about someone who (if I’m remembering right) lived in the U.K. or Australia and was planning to buy a car here and take a long road trip and then sell it at the end. He wanted to know how to get insurance and how to register the car seeing as how he didn’t live here permanently.
