Can You Help me Find an Article? Re: Picking Up Pennies

I remember reading an article a few years back about how much money could be made picking up coins off the street. My (somewhat faulty) memory insists thatit was about some college students who had done a study on that subject and they found that you could earn more than minimum wage by picking up change off of the streets of New York City. A figure sticks out in my mind as the amount they averaged per hour: $6.70.

Yahoo hasn’t helped. Does anyone else remember this?

It isn’t possible you are mistakenly remembering one of Cecil’s own are you?

No, that’s not it.

If I remember correctly, it was the results of a research paper or a thesis done by a team of college students who actually collected the change.
