I once watched a film which told several stories in parallel. Three, I think. I remember one of the stories was about two men from a Muslim country (Iran, if I recall correctly) who emigrated to an Arab speaking country searching for a job. Once there they were recruited by an extremist group and they had a guide who made them play football at some point in their training. He eventually persuaded them to commit a suicide attack against what I remember being a large oil ship from a western corporation.
Other than that I can only bring back to memory that one of the other side stories involved a couple who end up being thrown naked in front of a mob of reporters with cameras. I watched it in high school, which was before 2010…

But it’s not the one I’m looking for. I’m sure because it didn’t have George Clooney in it. Also, it wasn’t really about oil. The terrorist attack was only towards the end. And the Muslim migrants’ story was only one among at least two other side stories, which weren’t related in any obvious way to each other.
Nope. It didn’t involve Mexico. I’d definitely remember if it had. I’m not sure, but I think the title had something to do with the word paradise.
Yep, you’re actually right. It’s not the one with the naked couple, though. It seems that I’ve jumbled up different films in my memory. Probably was zapping from one to the other when I watched them, as it was on TV…
