Can you identify who this person is?

A friend of mine on FB was vacationing in Triers, Germany a couple months ago when she accidently fell and hit her head. A Good Samaritan came to her aid. He and his wife did their best to care for her while the ambulance was on its way. She would like to thank the Good Samaritan, but does not know his name. But she does have a photo of him and his wife. According to my FB friend,

This is the Salt Lake City policeman, and his wife, who took charge, phoned for an ambulance and helped me when I fell and hit my head hard and twisted my leg in Triers. (My husband took this photo.) He stayed for 25 minutes not allowing me to move until the ambulance arrived. I would like to thank him publicly but don’t know his name.

So apparently he’s a “policeman” in SLC. (Though I supposed he could be a sheriff’s deputy.) I am not good at web sleuthing for individuals, and was wondering if a doper could figure this out.

How about send the story and photo to the SLC dept? If he’s not one of theirs, I’m sure they could check with other agencies.

Yep, the police are very good at identifying one of their own. I had a 1920s photo of my grandfather that had a motorcycle policeman in the picture. I sent it to a retired Elyria (Ohio, where the photo was taken) cop and it took him a day to find out who it was: P. P. Palmer!
