I’ve got 2 newish computers (P4-2.4 and Athlon2ghz) and a new USB CD-burner I’ve borrowed and used with them seems to only run at USB 1.1 speed. BTW, how can I tell if I’ve got USB 1.1 ports or USB 2.0 ports already? Assuming I’ve got USB 1.1, could I use a USB 2.0 PCI card to get some USB 2.0 ports?

Yes. They will work fine and give you 2.0 port speeds.
Well according to my P4 motherboard manual it has USB 2.0… but the manual for the other motherboard doesn’t specify what kind of USB is used (BTW I got for a duron 800 though now use it for athlon 2ghz). I think that USB cd burner might have been going slow because I was using 4x rewriteable CD’s - which force the CD burner to go really slowly…
So I guess I’ve got some USB 2.0 ports (at least on one computer)…
