Can your IP address or other means of Identification be traced if using wireless hotspot

I’ll get right to it. My wife was lied to and seduced by this guy (old friend from the past) and ended up in a brief act of transgression. I will eventually come face to face with this piece of crap but first I would like to make his life suck a bit. If I place craigslist ads listing free and cheap stuff and give his phone number for people to contact, can that be traced back to me? Particularly if I use a free wireless hotspot? I hear this can result in 100’s of phone calls. I want to get back at this guy somehow, but don’t want to go to jail over harrassment charges. Any thoughts?

Yeah.
Don’t be a dick.

Whether or not, they won’t find it too hard to figure out it was the guy whose wife he has been banging.

I’m the dick? That’s funny since your name is Richard…You don’t think he gets what he deserves by trying to break up a family? After searching online, he’s done this to other married women…I guess you’re like him

I don’t care if he knows, it’ll be obvious it’s me. I just want to know if it can be proven

Nobody is defending whatever he did, but you are planning to sink to his level, or below, and asking for our help in committing a crime.

Reported.

im new here, what does reported mean?

Maybe a forum change is in order…

As well as an attitude…

He didnt cheat on you, your wife did.

He has broken no promises to you, she did.

Nobody forced her to go out, meet up with him, then decide that it was worth risking her marriage to fuck him.

You don’t have a computer problem, or a guy problem, you have a wife problem.

You are mad at the wrong person.

Face to Face? What does that mean? I say the wife has a husband problem. Just do her a favor and get a divorce.

Christ guys, lighten up.

I would presume there would be records of the unique machine address of the computer that you used, so yes, it could be proven.

Do they keep records of who uses public access terminals at libraries?

Are you kidding? In the U.S. the CIA/FBI demanded librarians list the names of people borrowing books.

As opposed to the CIA/FBI demanding it in other countries.

The Feds wanted records of books a guy checked out of the library where I worked, but they obtained a warrant rather than working us over with rubber hoses.

Asking how to do illegal things isn’t allowed here. Closed.
