In a FIRST since March, we’ve had zero new deaths reported, as of yesterday!
WOOT ! High Five to all my fellow Canadians. I have to say, this has really lifted my spirits.
(Which are particularly low as autumn is def in the air!) I realize it’s unlikely to hold, and we will still see new cases. But victories against Covid are few and far between, and this small one, seems worth celebrating to me!
Keep that long southern border closed. We’ve got the cooties pretty bad down here still. Maybe you should build a wall? (I kid, I really kid)
That is great news. New Jersey as of last weekend started allowing inside eating (at 25% capacity) so I expect a bump upwards in new cases. I hope it is only a small bump.
first of all, one person did die from COVID-19 on Friday. The national count is reported as 0 because a misreported death was removed from Ontario’s count the same day, yielding a net of 0.
Anyway, it won’'t survive Tuesday. People will still die from this.
But it’s the level of deaths. I don’'t want anyone to die from any disease, but a handful of deaths from a given cause is part of being human… People die of the flu, prostate cancer, and of falling off ladders. The danger from COVID-19 is that it become catastrophic and shuts down society and blows the health care system out of the water; if we keep it to a small problem, we’re fine.
