Canadian Dopers - Your opinion please

I’m a fan. It’s not my favourite food in all the world or anything, but for a quick dinner when I don’t have the time or energy to make something from scratch it’s really pretty great.

I like a number of things from there, and pretty much always keep a package of one or two of the following in my freezer - meatballs (both beef and turkey), quiche, garlic bread, lasagna (when it’s on sale), perogies, and those stuffed chicken breasts. I don’t really think of them as “frozen tv dinners” the way some PPs have, as for us the M&M item is only a componant of the meal, not the entire thing. I always add something fresh - a salad, steamed vegetables, rice, whatever.

I’ve frequented three locations - in a small city, a very large city, and a really small town - as I have moved around the province over the last 10 years or so, and they have all seemed to be doing really well. As someone mentioned, having it easily accessible on the way home from work is probably a good idea.

Their meatballs and chicken fingers helped me survive university. IMHO, M & M’s chicken fingers are the best out there, nicely breaded, good size, and tasty.

I can definitely see myself heading back there once I head out on my own again.

I read the flyers every week thinking “ooo - that looks tasty” and then never go.
To be honest, I’m not even sure where the nearest one is.

Those have been popping up in a lot of threads, apparently. (I have Adblock Plus, so I wouldn’t know firsthand.) I bet it’s all because of those old Jack Dean Tyler threads.

I pay Google to put those ads where the topic is being discussed, so I too am curious how they’re getting into specific places.

Pretty good overall. Some taste treats. Meat quality is nothing special.

Now that grocery stores are getting larger and carrying more speciality and prepared fozen foods, I expect that M&M will have to tighten up its operations. Bear in mind that when M&M made it’s place on the Canadian dinner table, most grocery stores did not have much in the way of speciality and prepared frozen foods, and the meat selections at most grocery stores were nothing special. Times have changed over the last couple of decades.

Location is vital.

Yes, there is M&M food in my freezer at the moment, and in fact I ate M & M food last night.

I’ve always liked M&M’s. Never been disappointed in anything they sell. Although I wouldn’t buy steaks there, because I prefer to get a fresh, non-frozen steak from the butcher instead. Everything else though, is always top notch.
