Simple question: Does Canada use GE crops?
Most rapeseed (from which we get canola oil) grown in Canada is GM. There are currently no laws regarding the labelling of GM products in Canada. The last motion to create such a law was defeated in October of 2001.
I can’t possibly imagine that the entire nation of Canada has banned the farming of genetically modified crops, and wikipedia seems to agree with me. For that matter, are there any sizable countries of note that have actually outright banned them within their borders?
Seeing how Monsanto sued a number of Canadian farmers I would say we do.
