I may have to look further into it…I must be planning on teaching in the wrong area, since here it is somewhat difficult for teachers to afford plane tickets/rental cars/passports(given, an issue either way)…
I grew up in a family of teachers…my mother, father, and two of my sisters, and I am next…and we always had trouble with those things…the only way we ever afforded to travel was my father owning a construction company that he ran in his spare time…not that we were poor, but just comfortably middle class…
On another random side-note, does it seem odd to anyone that the google ads say I could “Study To Become A Minister Online!” and “Come to the ‘real’ light. Proving there is no God” all on the same page…I wonder how many ministers are outraged? maybe the atheists are as well?
If your girlfriend is getting her degrees from a well respected American school (doesn’t have to be ivy league or anything) she will likely have as good a chance as any Canadian graduate at any university positions here. In fact, she could very likely have a better shot than a Canadian graduate. I have heard it from a number of faculty that they often have an unofficial ranking of schools: #1 is USA, #2 Europe, #3 Canada.
That sounds promising…her graduate degree will actually be from the University of Cinci…I know them and Boston are big players in criminology, but not sure how big…
Canada just sounds better everyday…
