Canadian National Exhibition-Fun?

I’m going on a short trip to Toronto this weekend with my boyfriend, which I found out just happens to coincide with the Canadian National Exhibition. My mother used to always tell me how much fun she had at the CNE when she was a little girl, and it looks like it could be fun. It also looks HUGE. Saturday is our only full day in Toronto (since we’re leaving Friday), and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to spend the whole day at the CNE. I’m also wondering about crowds–it’s only the second day of the CNE, so it could be packed. It’s also a theme day–“Chinese Day”–which could be lots of fun, but could also be a madhouse.

We go to Toronto a lot, and I’ve been looking for something different to do lately, so this could be the ticket, but again, is it worth spending most of the day there? Due to its size, that looks to be about the only choice, since I’d like to see most of it. So, for people who’ve been there, is it fun, or should we just stick to our “wandering around Chinatown and Queen St. West” Saturday plans?

If that’s your other plan, it seems that anything else would beat it :stuck_out_tongue:

CNE was kinda fun when I went there.

It’s okay, but pretty overpriced. Only go if you like crowds.

I love the Ex. It’s cool and cheesy all at the same time. My personal favorite is the Rising Star competitions (kind of like American Idol, except all the kids are talented).
