Canadian opposition seeks to topple Harper's 6-week-old government

And form a Liberal-NDP coalition government. Story here. As I understand it this is all perfectly proper in a parliamentary system, but is it right to do this so soon after an election? And will they succeed? And how will the public react?

As a left-liberal I suppose I should be supportive of anything that lets the NDP (the inspiration for America’s erstwhile New Party) into the national government for once (it never has been before, AFAIK), but still . . .
