Canadian Politics 2022-2023

Huh. Who knew? Maybe, just maybe, the Prime Minister of Canada, with the resources of the Department of Global Affairs, CSIS, and the RCMP, may have a better take on international issues and criminal acts in Canada than a poster on a message board.

Even when the PM is a Liberal.

It’s almost like our Canadian government had information, and decided not to spew it all over the press because there were important security issues at stake, including an investigation by the United States.

But hey. “Argle bargle Trudeau bad” will continue to be the mantra for the next year.

Nice hair though.

So is India going to have a diplomatic hissy fit against the Americans now? I hear crickets. The Indian government was sure quick to bash Canada. (As was the official opposition - too bad they can’t seem to support their own country)

Whatever they undertake as a response, I very much doubt they’ll spread it round in the international press, as they’ve done with Canada.

This is no different than the Michaels situation in China where Canada was treated in a way that they would never treat the US.

India needs the U.S. and the U.S. needs India. We USA folks can’t have the governments of Russia, China, and India all against us, so I don’t think we will push this for long.

I realize the other part, which is that the Sikh-Canadian population, even just in absolute terms, is more than twice the Sikh-American population.

EDIT: Or maybe I am all wrong because the U.S. State Department has no control over our Justice Department.

So - no Canadian Politics 2024 thread? And we’re in November? Of 2024? Say what?
I guess we’re just not all that interesting.
Damn bloody rights I’m bumping this.

I wish this Pierre Pollievre plonk would just go away.

Nothing like trying to establish a Trumpian stranglehold on a party.

Most Canadian discussions, including politics, seem to be at the Canadoper Café thread nowadays.

Ah, thanks.
