Kind of a long shot…but I know there have been cancer-survivor threads here before, so somebody may be able to help with this:
Anybody here have any experience with cancer treatment centers (like, for example, Cancer Treatment Centers of America)?
As far as I can tell from their literature, they provide a “general contractor” approach to treating the disease: you get a team of doctors, nutritionists, counselors, etc. You don’t necessarily get any different treatment – you may get the same chemo that your local oncologist would prescribe. But (to go back to the contractor analogy) you don’t have to hire separate plumbers, electricians and tile workers to remodel your bathroom.
Does this sound right? Does it work any better than staying with your local doctor(s)?
