I’m still waiting to hear from my kinsman about the specifics on his camera. But Mrs. Mercotan did note that Gander Mountain carries a line of remote sensor/trigger cameras for photographing wildlife.
I’ll post more info as it becomes available.

My kinsman reports in on the camera:
If you lived an hour or two West of the Lake, I’d vote for the wallaby. They are typically found 'round kangaroo’s, ya know!

Just this very evening a fox ran across the parking lot of the restaurant where the Ryskid and I were dining.
He must’ve been late for his photo shoot.
Y’know, I think I might get me one of them remote sensing camera thingies and set it up on an island where we go camping a lot in the summer. Probably see some turkeys. And skunks.
Q: Do flashing lights scare skunks?
Love the Kitty. Do you know him by name?
These suckers have been seen in Wisconsin since the 70’s. First sightings were in Waukesha County. I lived in the area at the time, & a hellava fuss was made.
IIRC, it sleeps on elfbabe’s pillow and goes by Fluffernutter and was recently seen fighting a garage door.

I’m not a stalker
So, what have I seen right here in Exurbia, a few miles north of Boston?
Deer out the yazoo; coyotes, foxes, fishercats, snapping turtles, box turtles, rabbits, assorted hawks, owls and buzzards, egrets, herons, blue and white, and wild turnkeys, inclluding the flock of nine that comes around most days to stel food from the guinea fowl at the barn where my horse lives.
One wild turkey, in fact, moved into the barn over one winter, although the guinea fowl harassed it whenever it got near them.
Nah, that’s not Fluff. It’s one of the local feral cats whose presence have made Fluff into a bit more of a housecat, with their bullying ways directed at our senior feline citizen. Still, at least said interloper gave us some amusing poses.
I want to set up my own camera, so I can document other local fauna, like the herons and the wild turkeys and the skunks (whom I have encountered in the wild here, as has our dog) and the porcupines and the orangutans (ook) and all that.
Sadly, the only marsupials noted here have been the possums. But you never know your luck.
Coyotes have been in the neighborhood too, and there was even rumor of a bear passing thru, which would not be surprising, as a feral bear did turn up in Milwaukee last year.
