I’m in a hot debate over at another forum and I remember reading a thread here about how Mother Teresa wasn’t as sainted as she was made out to be. They just asked for cites and I can’t search for the thread. Anyone have a link to it saved somewhere, or solid cites about Mother Teresa?
maybe search under “Christopher Hitchens” and “Missionary Position” (the title of the book)
I like Hitchens more each day till he comes to the subject of religion. Then, he’s just the angry, bitter village atheist dedicated to pissing all over everything. While MT certainly had flaws in belief & practice, even the Liberal Powers That Be had to honor her even as she rebuked them for their pro-choice abortion views. If there had been any way to take her down, I’m sure they’d have done it.
Her views on abortion and birth control aren’t under debate, just how her charity was perceived as spending money vs. how they actually spent money.
I can’t find any neutral cites about her charity and it’s spending besides a very general wiki article, but I remember that that thread contained a link. I’ll keep searching google.
