CAP Antismetic Bullshit Controversy

If one wants to find garbage, one has to go to a landfill. So, fair warning, some of these sites are offensive and evil. I don’t endorse them. I don’t endorse the views in them. Nevertheless they exist.

Yeoman’s service, but treis isn’t interested in the facts. Something like 25 posts before he ever-so-honestly asked for a rundown of the history of “Israel Firster”, Lefty, of all people, pointed out that it’s been used by David Duke. Of course, if treis has a tiny bit of any honest interest in the phrase, he could’ve googled it and found a wealth of filth. Funny, then, that he instead decided to create a fetch quest instead…

Of course, the semantic content is obvious, and apologists play this little game with each revision. Which is why, naturally, “dual loyalty” is totally and completely different from “conflict of interest” because, ya know, because. And why accusing people of being “Israel-Firsters” doesn’t mean that it’s an accusation that our government is in thrall to the Jewish State and is in fact a Zionist Occupied Government because hey look over there!

Be fair to Treis.

He’s made it clear he thinks Stephen Walt, John Mearscheimer and Juan Coleare anti-Semites and he’s disgusted with all the people who aren’t.

Granted, he also insists that David Irving isn’t anti-Semitic.

I’m pretty convinced descriptivism is the only way to go, so take that as a starting point when addressing this essentially ethicolinguistic question.

If we’re trying to figure out whether anyone is reasonably offended, then I agree.
If we’re trying to figure out whether Falani is likely to reoffend, then I disagree.
