Captain Kangaroo theme

I also recall Bunny Rabbit stealing and hiding the keys to the Treasure House.

Always fun to watch The Captain search for them.

I was the other way around - other than what Captain Kangaroo looked like, and the names of some of the other characters like Mister Greenjeans and Mister Moose, the only thing I remembered from the show was the music, which I remembered pretty clearly. Listening to the YouTube clip, there’d be places where I’d think, “I don’t remember those notes as being that sharp,” but other than stuff at that level, I remembered it pretty much as it was.

Upon reading the thread title I thought, ‘Hm. I don’t remember that theme.’ Which is pretty unusual because I’m pretty good at remembering theme music/songs. Then I had a theme pop into my head and I couldn’t place it. What is it from? How can I possibly describe it for identification? Wait… Could it be…? I clicked on the link.

Yep. The theme that popped into my head is the theme from Captain Kangaroo.

Captain Kangaroo taught me the magic words “please” and “thank you”.

What a gentle man Bob Keeshan was.

However, I didn’t like Town Clown because he was always sad. I never was afraid of clowns, but found them depressing. Every other part of the show made up for that segment though.
