Car Audio Q: Tape deck slot not DIN?

I have a 01 Hyundai Accent. The facory tape deck is shot and I would like to get something new (CD player). However, on first glance, the tape deck slot does not appear to be DIN. Is this possible? Its kind of curved around the edges including where it goes into the dashboard… it’s not “boxy” like other DIN slots I have seen.

Am I out of luck for replacing this tape deck? Do I need to take it to a specialist shop or (horrors) the dealer?

Er… what am I looking at in that link…?

It’s a mounting adapter to fit the replacement radio into your slot, and a faceplate to mate the front of the new unit with your dash.

If you are not sure, go to crutchfield.com. They will have installation instructions for the Accent. If you buy the radio from them, they include the adaptors you need. I’m thinking about dong the dame for my wife’s Accent.
