Car camping in October in Québec?

Pretty much what the post title says.

I’m hoping to spend a few days visiting Quebec City and Montreal in early October, and I’m thinking of making the trip with my teardrop trailer instead of staying in hotels.

A Canadian friend of mine says that mostly all of the campgrounds close at the end of September.

I’m looking for places within 30-45 minutes’ drive of each city.

The simpler and fewer amenities the better. My preference in the US has always been for state parks with toilets, showers, water spigot, and nothing more. But I’d gladly stay in a “family” campground if one is available.

Here (both in WI and MN) they generally shut off the water in mid October

Personally, I’d google some parks of interest and see what their situation is.
