Carl Perkins' guitar-playin' posture

The other night, Mrs. R and I went to see Million Dollar Quartet at the local theatre. It was a lot of fun; we really enjoyed the music, which was well-done; and the actors seemed to capture the essence of their characters very well.

There was one interesting thing, though: the actor playing Carl Perkins stood oddly when he was playing his guitar. His right leg was bent almost as though he was sitting down, and his left leg, which was supporting his weight, was also bent slightly. His torso was bent slightly forward, hunched over the guitar. He raised and lowered his left heel, tapping in time with the music. It was a strange and awkward-looking pose, and I could stand that way for about two minutes before my knees and back would be killing me.

It’s sort of visible in the picture on this page (the red-tinged one). “Carl” is the one in the dark shirt.

So here’s my question: Did the real Carl Perkins stand this way, and the actor was mimicking him?

Well. You can always check the YouTube archives and see for yourself, here are two that I found that may be of help:

YouTube 1

YouTube 2

Type his name at Youtube & you’ll get different videos.

(dreamy sigh) Oh, YouTube! Is there anything you can’t do? (sigh)

Seriously, thanks for the links. I should’ve thought of that.
Looks like the posture was the actor’s own, not an imitation of Perkins.
