You know, three years ago she was pretty much living in obsecurity. She came back to appear in the new Star War’s films. The work reinvigorated her life and career. She had just completed a book signing in Europe. Posting several photos and looking so happy.
She died at a productive and peaceful time in her life. We’ll see her work again as the new movies are released. She’s been introduced to a new generation of fans that will remember her for years to come.
RIP Carrie.

ETA: I’m glad they wrapped Ep VIII so we’ll get one more time with Leia.
I feel a great disturbance in the Force… as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

For some reason, this one has hit me the hardest out of the stream of high profile deaths we’ve seen this year.
I’ve always associated this song with Carrie Fisher. I know it wasn’t written for her, but somehow it just expressed my young feelings for her in the early 80’s when her career seemed limitless. She was such a special star in those early years for Star Wars fans.

Well at least she didn’t die on Christmas Day itself. Granted that’s probably not much comfort for her family who spent Christmas praying for her to pull through. Four more days until 2017.
