Carrie Fisher has massive heart attack on plane [UPDATE: RIP]

Didn’t they already? I read that Princess Leia shows up in Rogue One near the end.

Upthread is a post saying that she finished her filming.

She’d finished Ep 8. Leia was going to be in Ep 9 too, though.

LOVE this picture! Thank you.

Remember, too, that Penny’s brother Garry Marshall also died this year.

Pre-embalmed in Chivas.

Not right… and too soon.

RIP.

Mummification.

“Stable” just means “not getting better or worse”. If you’re in a coma but not getting worse you’re “stable”.

The survival rate for a cardiac arrest, even with competent CPR, is pretty damn low. When they didn’t say she was getting better after a couple days I started anticipating her passing.

Just a damn shame.

I just stumbled across this on YouTube, and thought it a fitting tribute.

As someone else, maybe even here, pointed out, dead is awfully stable too.

The Heart attack story is a cover. She actually drowned in moonlight, strangled by her own bra.

RIP.

Another forum I visit has changed the title of their obituary thread on her to that phrase.

Possible deep vein thrombosis event? (Reminds me of Tim Russert keeling after a long flight)

If you’re an EMT/Dr./nurse, I guess you’re always on call, even when you’re not.

Mark Hamill has found some words

It’s possible it was a DVT. They announced yesterday (it’s 12:12am as I type this on Wednesday morning) that Garry Shandling died of a blood clot that went from his leg to his lung (what they call a “pulmonary thrombosis” or “pulmonary embolism”).

And yeah, EMTs/doctors/nurses/firefighters/police officers/military folk are never really “off duty.” In Indiana (my home state), we (I’ve been an EMT for over 8 years) were informed that, if there’s a situation that occurs where someone can ID me as an EMT (uniform, license plate, sticker in the car window, etc), then I’m obligated to assist*.

*I don’t know how true - or legally binding - that statement is. It’s just what I was told.

And let’s not forget her Big Bang cameo in one of the funniest episodes ever:

Carrie Fisher: It’s not funny any more, James.
James Earl Jones: Then why am I laughing?

I’m seeing reports from TMZ that Debbie Reynolds has been rushed to the hospital with a stroke.

Take it for what it’s worth.

Well, after my sister died my mother suffered a “cardiac episode” - losing a child is one of the most stressful things a human being can endure. Worsening of a health issue after that is not unheard of. I hope Ms. Reynolds is OK, it would be terrible for the extended family to lose two people so close together.

Debbie Reynolds has had a couple of strokes in the last few years.

Chicago Tribune reporting it as well so that should make it legit for most people. They aren’t saying a stroke but that she fell ill with breathing problems.

And The Los Angeles Times.
