Cars with Scottish names

I only found one - the Argyll GT. Maybe there aren’t anymore. Mind you, there were plenty of cars manufactured in Scotland but they had names like Hillman and Scamp. I thought the Saturn Skye was one but turns out it is spelled “Sky”. Missed opportunity if you ask me.

This may be the most mundane thing I ever posted . Apologies to Northern Piper although since I am a MacDonald perhaps I can be forgiven. Or not. Maybe he’s a Campbell…

The McLaren? Bruce McLaren was born in New Zealand but his family’s name may be Scottish.

There’s a Toyota Highlander.

Albion Motors was a Scottish motor manufacturer that was taken over by Leyland Motors in 1951, but the brand remained in use for a further 20 years. They produced a variety of lorry and bus models, many of which had distinctively Scottish names - the Chieftain, the Clansman, the Clydesdale, the Reiver, the Claymore, the Cameronian (lorries); the Aberdonian, the Lowlander and another Clydesdale (buses).

Would the Studebaker Scotsman count?

It’s a little know fact Sonny Jim that the Ford Focus was named after after a verb of wha’ the poxy Brits did to the Scots since Edward the Confessor…

There’s a Gordon Gordon (1954–1958) - Wikipedia and a Gordon-Keeble Gordon-Keeble - Wikipedia
And an Elgin Elgin (automobile) - Wikipedia

No “maybe” about Maclaren / McLaren being a Scots name; it’s a Highland clan: Clan MacLaren - Wikipedia

Of the 20 most common surnames now in Scotland, only #8-MacDonald starts with “Mc” or “Mac”

There were no Brits till England got a Scottish king. “Great Britain” was James VI/I 's idea.

In Canada, there was the McLaughlin.

Yeah, but only one.

They were still Britons though were they not?

Not really. Before the creation of Great Britain, Britons referred to an ancient tribe thoroughly diluted by the influx of Anglo-Saxons and Normans.

This is what I get for trying to be funny…
