Cartoon Credits Question: Why Roll 'Em So Fast?

Okay, help me out here. If I’m a voice talent on a cartoon, why do I want my name and the part I played to roll past the screen at the speed of sound? Wouldn’t it be to my advantage, much like an actor in a film, to have the credits presented in a proper manner?

Two parter: Do voice talents have their own unions and is this a major issue with them?

Thanks

Quasi

But then again, kids probably won’t be so interested in reading the credits after a cartoon.

Union Voice Actors are members of SAG.

Not all Voice Acting jobs are union jobs. Union Voice Actors often take false names for these jobs. (A (im)famous example, among anime fans (or at least those who pay attention to dub actors), is John Smallberries.)
