And it ain’t “Powerhouse.”
In The Big Snooze, you can heart it at 5:47, just before the “Russian” stock music. I always associate it with barnyards/chickens for some reason.
It sounds similar to Turkey in the Straw, but I think they’re different pieces.
Could it possibly be “Turkey in the Straw” backwards?
It’s a snippet of what I’ve always called the “Cossack Dance.” Unfortunately, my Google-fu tells me there is no such song with that title.
If I had to guess, I’d say it’s something by Rimsky-Korsakov, who wrote “Flight of the Bumblebee.” But I haven’t been able to find a clip of the particular music I’m thinking of.
Weird, I’ve never thought about it, but it’s the Looney Toon “barnyard” music and Google is failing me. I really hope someone figures this out, now I want to know!
Filed away for future referance. Good work Mobo85.
There’s one called Cossack Patrol. You may have been thinking of that one.
That really sounds a lot like a variation on “Turkey in the Straw”. Then at the :40 mark (using the amazon sample at the bottom of the wiki page) it shifts to a Joplin-esque ragtime beat. Neat-o.
