Cast Reunion Photo for The Princess Bride

This Cast Reunion photo for The Princess Bride has been getting shared around Facebook.

I kinda love it. Looks like it comes from an feature in Entertainment Weekly from October.
(I searched the board as far back as Sept. and didn’t see another Thread.)

Searching in one window, typing in another . . . here’s a bigger file

My God. Robin Wright just gets more beautiful with age.

Mandy looks pretty cool with a beard. And it’s nice they included the photos.

That was EW’s yearly reunion issue. Also pictures from the cast of Clueless, Larry Sanders and St Elsewhere and a few others.

It’s a shame Andre couldn’t be there, though.

He is there. Bottom right.

If you read the caption on the left, it says the picture was taken in 2011.

Ah, yes, you are correct. I suppose I should have done my search for more than a few months!

I was about to ask who was in the photo by Cary Elwes’ elbow . . .
then studied a bit more and I see that it is Peter Falk. I couldn’t figure it out because I was only thinking of the characters in the fantasy story, I wasn’t considering the frame story. If Peter Falk is there, I figure Fred Savage should be there too. Yet, I think it would be odd to have Fred Savage with the actors from the fantasy . . . so, I’m not sure if I’d have included Falk.

Carol Kane doesn’t look bad for 60. Really, they all look pretty good. Shame they couldn’t get Savage.

Holly crap, I never realized that Princess Buttercup went on to become a hippie and die of AIDS as Jenny in Forrest Gump. I have seen both movies dozens of times and never even began to make that connection.

Dumping Sean Penn helped, no doubt.

They could have also included Mel Smith, and a picture of Peter Cook.

I’d have put Savage in the picture, but out of the “set,” in a bed. Wonder why he wasn’t there…

Hmmmm, yeah, I could go with that.

Wallace Shawn looks like he is busy on the phone. Now, that’s in character!

Yes. The photograph doesn’t do him justice. A life size one would have. My friend Tim was Andre’s personal manager for many years. I told him about another friend from work who wouldn’t know wrestling from a hole in the wall. In a discussion about the Princess Bride the work friend tossed out “Wasn’t Andre the Giant a professional wrestler also?” When I told Tim about this his eyes teared up, he said Andre would have been proud to hear that someone only knew him as an actor.

Is that Count Rugen by the horse?

I wonder if he has Death on the line.

d&r

Yep; Christopher Guest. Took me a couple of minutes to recognize him.

Love that they included the ROUS.

Indeed that is. Wiki has a clearer photo of him from a few years earlier.
