Oooh! Pete Holmes would make a GREAT, GREAT Jack Tripper. Kate and Riki kind of exude different personalities than the original Janet and Crissy, but I think that’s an improvement. More complex characters, less stereotype. Kate is quirky, fairly bright but on the shy side, whereas Rikki is fairly bright and more outgoing, but maybe a bit pushy and oblivious in her desire to help. They could both do stupid things and/or overhear conversations wrong. It would be better if they were all a little younger, but for a movie I think they could pull it off
Jeremy Piven or Vince Vaughn as Larry. A fast-talking, slimy sort of guy who is also a good friend. They are aging out of the role, but maybe that’s part of their character as well - an older, slick-talker still trying to mack on the ladies. Maybe he sees himself as a big-brother to Jack.
The whole dynamic of the show would be odd now. Who would need to pretend to be gay to live with two women these days? Maybe another source of tension should be developed, but I can’t think of one.
Mr & Mrs Roper: Garret Dillahunt & Martha Plimpton. Wonderful comic chops, and they can both be on the scary side if that’s a direction they decide to take. Especially Garret.
Kate Upton is an inspired choice in the looks category.
Steve Buscemi showed in The Incredible Burt Wonderstone that he has good comedy chops. I think he could play Ralph.
And Kate Upton can certainly do beautiful-but-ditzy.
I have to admit, they are good.
